Every new Konstantin Chaykin watch is invariably accompanied by a cycle of original graphics. In the case of “Joker Football”, the artwork became the starting point for an ultra-limited series of Wristmons created for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Mexican connection is emphasized through the colour palette: green, white and red echo the colours of the national flag.
Through this artwork, Chaykin invites the viewer into his unique artistic genre, Horological Art – painting built on the principles of drafting and mechanical construction. The proportions and composition of the sketch follow the logic of a watch movement. The intricate guilloché pattern is rendered with striking realism: built up through meticulous brush hatching, it gains depth, volume and an almost tactile presence.
It is 12-colors silkscreen with the artist's copyright stamp. The silkscreen is made on German paper made of 100% pure cotton, 300 g/m². Each piece is signed and numbered by the artist. Like the watch itself, this ultra-limited graphic edition is available exclusively in Mexico.
Silkscreen printing, or serigraphy, is one of the oldest stencil-based printing techniques. The development of this art form is commonly associated with medieval China during the Song dynasty (960–1279). The term itself derives from the Latin sericum, meaning “silk”, and the Greek graphein - “to draw”. Historically, silk fabric served as the basis through which ink was pressed by hand onto paper or fabric.
“Joker Football” is a highly valuable piece of art – the limited edition 12-color silkscreen. Today, artistic screen printing retains its special significance precisely because the image is created entirely by hand, layer by layer, colour by colour. The integrity of the entire sheet depends on the precision of each pass. In the case of “Joker Football”, every piece in this ultra-limited edition has gone through 12 manual printing stages.
Konstantin Chaykin was not only the author of the sketch that formed the basis of the artwork. He was also directly involved in preparing the printing process. The artist developed the composition step by step on a graphic tablet, determining in advance how the separate stencils would come together as a single image. As a result, the printing studio followed the creator’s exact vision – from the original idea to the final pass of ink across the paper. This is precisely why the “Joker Football” silkscreen edition carries exceptional collectible value.
Konstantin Chaykin has created an unprecedented authorial genre, Horological Art. His paintings are produced according to the principles of drafting and engineering. Executed using a compass and a ruler, the works are grounded in mechanical precision and an engineer’s approach. The proportions and compositions of the canvases echo the logic of watch movements. Every detail on canvas is governed by the artist’s own philosophical framework.
Unlike a watch, where the idea undergoes engineering development and is completed by the team, a painting captures the artist’s immediate reflection. The worlds created on canvas are not constrained by the functional logic of movements and therefore are inherently unique. Each work forms its own micro-cosm: a Horological Universe and an internal dialogue of Konstantin Chaykin.
