TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE! 12 JUNE – 16 NOVEMBER 2025, PAVILION NO. 53, SPECIAL PURPOSE GARAGE MUSEUM, VDNH

On 12 June the Special Purpose Garage Museum at VDNH unveils the exhibition “Time Waits for No One!”.

Visitors will encounter rare masterpieces of horology drawn from the collections of the State Historical Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Russian History, the Polytechnic Museum, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts and the Museum of Moscow. Exhibits include mantel and sundial clocks, marine chronometers and elusive pocket watches once owned by revolutionaries, statesmen and scientists, alongside presentation timepieces gifted to leaders of past eras.

Horological devotees will be intrigued by tourbillon movements, weight-driven pendulum clocks, mid-20th-century electric models and modern marvels. The mechanism of the tower clock at Leningradsky Railway Station and a design sketch of the clock tower for Kazansky Railway Station (from the Shchusev Architecture Museum) will also be on display.

The exhibition further showcases two exceptional historical creations by Konstantin Chaykin: “Lukomorye,” produced in collaboration with renowned jeweller and artist Ilgiz Fazulzyanov, and “Moscow Paschal Calendar,” a watch that calculates the forthcoming date of Easter each year. These works—rarely shown to the public—combine unique mechanisms with exquisitely intricate decoration, exemplifying the fusion of watchmaking and jewellery arts.

Come and explore an exhibition where every piece is more than a timekeeper: it is a symbol of its epoch, a triumph of engineering ingenuity and a part of our cultural legacy.

Venue: Pavilion No. 53, Special Purpose Garage Museum, VDNH Dates: 12 June – 16 November 2025 Tickets: Available on the Special Purpose Garage Museum’s website
