Art Russia

Art Russia is a contemporary art fair and an international art-forum, one of the most significant cultural events in the country. The platform unites artists, patrons, gallery owners and art connoisseurs. This year Konstantin Chaykin will join the event.

The concept of the booth will be fully dedicated to multidisciplinarity. Iconic watches and paintings by Konstantin Chaykin will meet at one point. The former will be regarded as art-objects while the latter — as metaphors of artistic mind. Unlike a watch, where an idea undergoes engineering development and is realised by a team, a painting captures the artist’s immediate reflection. Each work forms its own micro-cosm: a horological universe and an intimate internal dialogue of Konstantin Chaykin.

At the core of exposition the sketches lie. It will be the first time for the author to present them. Among paintings the visitors of Art Russia will see meticulous metaphorical canvases such as ‘Ahaseurus,’ ‘Autumn,’ ‘Goddess Tempo,’ ‘Sedmitsa.’ Here, ‘Dormouse’ will also be displayed. This record-hitting painting has just been sold at the auction by Angels’ Club for 18 million rubles.
