ART OnO International Fair

From 3–5 April, the third edition of the international contemporary art fair ART OnO will take place in Seoul. This year, the list of participants will include Russian watchmaker and artist Konstantin Chaykin. The event will mark the second appearance of the master on the international exhibition stage.

ART OnO — short for ART One and Only — is an international art fair held in the heart of South Korea’s capital, Seoul. After a successful inaugural edition that attracted widespread attention across the international art community, ART OnO will once again leave a lasting impression on both local and international audiences. Being a multidisciplinary project, ART OnO is going to unite long-standing artistic traditions with innovative approaches.

Konstantin Chaykin has created an unprecedented authorial genre, Horological Art. His paintings are produced according to the principles of drafting and engineering. Using a compass and ruler only, the artist grounds in mechanical precision and an engineer’s approach. Time here is a hero itself. Chaykin’s Horological Art is closely connected with the philosophical traditions of South-East Asia. At its core lie ideas of balance and harmony.

At ART OnO, the master will present several painting cycles that aim to demonstrate that time is far more complex than it appears. The stand will feature the series ‘Time-Magic Enchantresses,’ a cycle inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and a number of Horological Archetypes — paintings that reveal the many faces of time. For the first time ever, in Seoul, the audience will see works such as ‘Moirai,’ ‘Attachment,’ and ‘From A to Z.’

Konstantin Chaykin’s participation in the event will become a continuation of his international artistic path. Previously, he has already taken part in ZⓈONAMACO México Arte Contemporáneo — the largest art-event in Latin America.
