Konstantin Chaykin's book, Horological Art in Russia: Masters and Keepers
Was published in the mid-2010s in two editions: in Russian and German. In this research, enriched with numerous rare illustrations, the Russian watchmaker and inventor explores the legacy of his outstanding predecessors. The first among them is the Russian polymath Mikhail Lomonosov, whose wide range of scientific interests included horology.
Other figures in the book include the self-taught engineer Ivan Kulibin, the creator of his own design of "planetary clocks"; Master Tolstoy, who crafted tourbillons; the Bronnikov family of watchmakers, known for producing movements made of wood and bone; Ivan Yurin, who, in the mid-19th century, created a table clock with 67 dials displaying the time in different cities of the Russian Empire; and many other talented Russian horologists.
