Sketch of the "Goddess Tempa"
- Watercolor paper
- Watercolor

The ‘Goddess of Tempo’ embodies the Trickster archetype: within her coexist both universal chaos and absolute order.
The drawing represents the empirical stage of the Tempo image. It precedes the finished composition and points to an intermediate phase of time. The composition is ascetic — each object becomes a symbol. The upper dial indicator marks the phase of the Moon. At the heart of the composition lie the disc indicators of hours and minutes, below them the date, and beneath that a sector indicator of the day of the week.
In this drawing, the ‘Goddess of Tempo’ already becomes a metaphor for the ordered movement of the Universe. Yet here she is presented as a beginning and a point of departure: the pure emergence of meaning on paper.
