On September 6, during the Geneva Watch Days, the traditional charity auction by Phillips, organized in partnership with Bacs & Russo, was held in support of the École d’Horlogerie de Genève, the oldest watchmaking school in Switzerland.

One of the highlights of the auction was Konstantin Chaykin’s “Autumn” sketch. In 2025 the world marks the 300th anniversary of the first publication of Antonio Vivaldi’s cycle of twelve concertos Il cimento dell’armonia e dell’invenzione. The first four concertos, better known as Le quattro stagioni (The Four Seasons), have inspired listeners for three centuries. Their musical dialogue between tradition and innovation resonates with the work of the renowned Russian watchmaker.

In 2021 Chaykin patented a unique perpetual calendar in which each season was represented by its own dial, though the project was later put on hold indefinitely. The master and artist decided to bring the concept to life through painting: first by creating a sketch and later a finished work. The sketch, first unveiled to the public a year ago at his solo exhibition, is executed in a warm palette evoking golden leaves, sunny days, and the first frosts. With its imaginative mechanics, it directly references the module of Chaykin’s “seasonal” perpetual calendar.

The sketch was sold for CHF 21,000. In total, the 19 lots at the auction raised CHF 185,900.
