This is an author's copy and the third self-portrait of watchmaker and inventor Konstantin Chaykin. The first one was created in 2019 for the Only Watch auction -.

a unique watch “Joker Selfie”.

The new “Self-Portrait” is no longer a watch, but a work in painting technique (canvas, acrylic). Chaykin painted it, inspired by the famous canvas of the classic of German romanticism Caspar David Friedrich “Wanderer over the sea of fog” (1818). The character of the painting stands with his back to the viewer on the top of a cliff at the edge of a precipice. However, the resolute pose of the hero leaves no doubt that he looks into the future with hope and faith in his strength.

And so it is in Chaykin's painting. The master sits at the workbench with his back to the viewer, but he looks not at the surface of the table, where there are no tools or details yet, but forward, into the future.

Everything is still to come:
the watchmaker and inventor is thinking about his plans and new ideas.
