In recent years, Konstantin Chaykin’s creative path has increasingly extended beyond the boundaries of haute horlogerie.

The independent master and inventor has been actively exploring his artistic potential, creating not only watch sketches but also standalone paintings. The Tree is one such work.

From a gear train enclosed within a wheel-shaped “crown” sprout support “branches”, bearing ruby “fruits”. The mathematically precise proportions of the wheels and bridges form a multi-layered allegory, designed to underscore both the nature of time slipping away from us and the value of each moment lived. In this metaphorical “Tree” seconds, minutes, and then hours grow and blossom, eventually “maturing” into centuries.

The sketch bears the master’s signature and the year of completion – 2024. Dimensions of the drawing: 24 × 32 cm.
