The Attachment
- Fiberboard

In this painting, Konstantin Chaykin finds an image of watch module mechanics that seems to him an unusual illustration of attachment as an emotional concept.
Of course, this is only a pictorial allegory, because the purely mechanical connection between the fusee and the wind-up drum by means of the Halle chain and the mutual attachment of mother and child have too little in common. Perhaps with the exception of the fact that the fusee-chain is used by watchmakers to equalize the tension transmitted from the winding drum to the clockwork. Indeed, emotional attachment is a good remedy for tension in a relationship.
