Sedmitsa

  • Canvas
  • Acrylic
  • 60×80 cm
An ironic image of watch mechanism module in the form of a beautiful woman in a fluttering sundress from the “Time-magic Enchantresses” series.

The name Sedmitsa is an obsolete concept, which means “Seven Days of the Week” or simply “Week”. Konstantin Chaykin plays with this meaning by depicting as stylized hands of the character the curved flat springs of the seven-pointed star, which is traditionally used in watchmaking as part of the day indicator mechanism.
